The 40 Children by Ras Teo & Lone Ark — a powerful spiritual collaboration.

A powerful album carrying deep historical and spiritual meaning.

A spiritually conscious singer carrying forward authentic roots reggae into the present, with a strong awareness of history and tradition—.

His vocal style is smooth and calm, with a melodic tone that is easy to hum along to.

I have long been a Respect of @rasteo_jahmenelik
also known as Jah Menelik. Whenever his music is played on a sound system, it instantly lifts the vibes up and brings a deep sense of excitement✨

His new album, created in collaboration with @lone_ark ,

Regarding this album, rather than simply being “produced by” Lone Ark, it feels more accurate to say that Ras Teo and Lone Ark created the entire world and atmosphere of the album together.

Lone Ark, based in Spain, runs his own studio and A-Lone Productions. Known as a true architect of sound, he handles nearly everything himself — playing most of the instruments, Singin, dubbing, mixing, engineering, and production.

He is deeply respected by reggae fans worldwide for reviving the warm analog spirit and live sound of 1970s Jamaican roots reggae in the modern era.

Now been released. It is structured as a “two-layer” work, combining vocal tracks and dub versions, offering two different ways to experience the same soundscape.

The album stays true to a classic roots reggae and dub aesthetic—steady, timeless, and deeply grounded in tradition.

The title "The 40 Children" carries a deeper meaning and reflects it as a narrative album.

It refers to the 40 orphaned Armenian children who were brought to Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, in the 1920s after the Armenian Genocide and were taken in by Haile Selassie. Many of them were musically gifted and later formed an orchestra called Arba Lijoch, which means ‘40 children’ in Amharic.

They are said to have had a significant influence on the modern musical culture of the Ethiopian Empire.

The title can therefore be read as a reference to them, linking Armenia and Ethiopia through themes of survival, resilience, and music.

Exploring historical and cultural connections, this story is not merely a tale of "orphan rescue," but rather a history that symbolizes:

  • Protection that transcends different ethnicities and religions
  • The regeneration of the diaspora (dispersed people)
  • Cultural transmission through music
  • Hope that overcomes hardship

and is still recounted today.

The philosophy of Ras Teo is deeply rooted in spirituality and resistance, strongly influenced by Rastafari and the tradition of roots reggae. It reflects themes of African repatriation, self-liberation, and spiritual awakening.

Live without fear and stay true to the truth.
Do not be swept away by external systems, but keep your inner spiritual awareness intact.

For him, music is both a form of struggle and a form of prayer.
and he spoke these words at the end

“People need to know it’s an awareness.

Rastafari is a teaching a way of life

Given to i and i from the depth of mount Zion”

Unfortunately, the world we live in today is filled with both turbulence and transformative energies. At the same time, I also feel the presence of love and salvation within it.

I choose not to give up, and I see this as a profound process of transition into the next era.

Within this flow, I believe we carry a responsibility to pass on a more harmonious and consciously elevated age to the next generations.

As he says, I truly feel that we are living in a time of awakening.

Massive respect
Ras Teo and Lone Ark‼️
