London-based soloist with a raggamuffin style, Charlie P, has just released his latest LP titled “Roots”. This album serves as a key reflection of the musical compositions featured in his latest full-length work. Dubquake Records, the music label led by Rico from OBF Soundsystem, played a vital role in the production and release of this album.
Another layer of meaning behind “Roots” reflects Charlie P’s musical journey, which began at home, where the sounds of Dennis Brown, Hugh Mundell, and Ranking Dread often echoed. From his early performances with Goldmasters Allstars to his involvement in the global sound system culture, the foundation of “roots” music has been deeply ingrained in his soul.
The album was recorded at Room-In-The-Sky Studio in London, with the support of two key musicians, Horseman (drums) and Megahbass (bass), who made significant contributions to the arrangement of the music.
