It has already been 18 years since Vybz Kartel and Mavado’s historic clash at STING.
This time it is not a clash, but the two artists, both still at the forefront of dancehall, will appear at Sumfest.
Another unforgettable moment in history is about to unfold.

Due to the damage caused by Hurricane Melissa, this year’s venue has been changed from Montego Bay to St. Ann.
Sumfest promoter Joe says the venue is incredible,
where “you can feel the sound of the waves and the bassline right beside the Caribbean Sea.”
Usually, Sumfest Week lasts for seven days, but this year it will be held in one day.
That means everything will be packed into a single day, making it an intensely rich show.
Alongside Vybz Kartel and Mavado, hot dancehall artists such as Ayetian and Jamal will also perform.

Another great thing is that there are various ticket options, from the front of the stage to the deck and VIP areas.
Visitors can also enjoy local food, and sponsor booths from Digicel, Magnum, Red Stripe and more will be giving out plenty of items, so don’t miss them. Personally, I heard that the Red Stripe booth will be giving away jerseys, so I definitely want to go.

Sumfest is a major festival, but it is also actively working on plastic separation and hurricane relief efforts in cooperation with countries such as the United States and France. It is also wonderful to see them supporting recovery efforts mainly around Montego Bay, where the venue used to be held.

Jamaica’s No.1 festival, “A taste of Sumfest,” is almost here. For those coming to the venue, the show goes on until morning, so sunglasses are a must. Wear comfortable shoes. And don’t forget to check the YouTube live stream.
