The title "Neo Tokiwa" is a tribute to the 1990s Osaka-based reggae crew, TOKIWA CREW (with members such as NG HEAD, RYO THE SKYWALKER, JUMBO MAATCH, TAKAFIN, BOXER KID, PUSHIM, etc.), and is positioned as a groundbreaking work to usher in a new era of Japanese reggae. The album features contemporaries such as ARIWA (ASOUND), Jr.SANTA (39-MAN), and U the Starr, with emerging DJs/singers and the Okinawan rapper/producer CHOUJI also participating. The entire album is produced by GACHA (MEDZ MUSIC), with session recordings done in Jamaica, providing a vibrant sound.
This album signifies a continuation of the spirit of the TOKIWA CREW by ZENDAMAN and other young artists, marking a new chapter in Japanese reggae. Their unique musical exploration unfolds throughout "Neo Tokiwa," promising a fresh and innovative reggae experience.
